Our
Story
Baba Wren Ltd (and our Good Sussex Honey brand) has grown out of Ade Belcham's enthusiasm for bees. Since 2020 we have grown from one hive to nearly 100 colonies. It has been a steep learning curve and one that has allowed us to combine our passions for conservation, environmentally responsible business and talking to people about bees.
At our 'home apiary' near Henfield, West Sussex we have created a wetland / water meadow conservation area through a combination of rewilding and minimal management. We also operate across eight other apiary sites all of which are on or close to conservation sites. We optimise our hive numbers to support floral diversity but without exerting excess pressure on wild pollinators.
While our approach is continually evolving, our aims are clear - to produce award winning hive products in a way that is kind to bees and benefits our local environment.
